the camel

The Camel

Camels have two humps. They are ruminants which live in the desert regions of central Asia. They reach 2m high and weigh 700kg.

Despite an abundance of them in captivity, it is estimated that by 2033 the wild population will have reduced by 85%. They are victims of hunting and giant pipeline constructions crossing the Gobi desert.

They are very resistant to water and food shortages, thanks to the fatty reserves they keep in their humps. They can cope very easily with the desert's temperature extremes.
