The Wildebeest

The southern blue wildebeest with black beards are a type of antelope and are therefore not related to buffalo. Measuring 1.40m high, they can weigh up to 270kg. Both males and females have curved horns. Following a gestation period of 9 months, a single calf is born, known as a "Gaou".
