- Life span: they live approximately 10 years.
- Characteristics : you can meet American bghorns in the rocky mountains, up to 2500 m. Living in groups of ten individuals, they stay close to cliff where they can hide in case of emergency. During the mating season males engage in impressive fights knocking their heads lasting sometimes more than 24 hours. The biggest the horns are, more respected is the male. Dominants can wear 15 kg horns.

- Anecdote : Massively hunted we estimate that 90% of the wild population has already disappeared. Bighorns are now protected and part of reintroduction programme.
