Life span : 15 to 20 years.
Characteristics: they live in the arid areas in Africa. Most of the time, you see them standing up on their back close to their burrows. Their predators are raptors and jackals.
Meal: the meerkat is a carnivorous mammal eating insects, larvae, lizards, mice, centipedes and spiders.
Anecdote: meerkats have an extraordinary vision : where we can hardly see a small point in a sky, they are able to recognize a vulture
