- Characteristics: they live in the arid areas in Africa. Most of the time, you see them standing up on their back close to their burrows. Their predators are raptors and jackals.
- Meal: the meerkat is a carnivorous mammal eating insects, larvae, lizards, mice, centipedes and spiders.
- Anecdote: meerkats have an extraordinary vision : where we can hardly see a small point in a sky, they are able to recognize a vulture
