- Characteristics: the waterbuck is similar in size to a deer and has a permanently oiled coat. Only the male, which weighs between 180 and 220 kg, has horns and these are curved in a concave pattern.

- Meal: it lives on grasses and likes water, entering it to escape from danger.
- Anecdote: the light-coloured crescent-shaped marking on the Waterbuck’s indquaters is sometimes doubled up and can be very distinctive.
