The Hippopotamus

Also called the river horse, this amphibious herbivore spends half of its life in the water. Armed with long canine teeth that it is ready to use to defend its territory, this animal causes more deaths than any other in Africa. Since last year we have been able to spot the tiny ears of a young hippopotamus poking out of the water, the hippo’s favourite playground.
