The Lion

At Planète Sauvage, you will discover an entire lion family: the lion and his lionesses. During 2007 and 2008, several lions were born in the park so you will be able to see the lion cubs alongside the savannah’s majestic king. This feline, weighing in at more than 200 kg for the male and 150 kg for the female, is a very social animal that lives in groups composed of several individuals.

NB: 30 to 50% of the African lion population has disappeared in the last 20 years due to a reduction in their hunting territory and difficulties sharing territory with livestock farmers.
